Website for a towing service in Lithuania (Vilnius) AutoKaput.LT<\/p>\n"},"content":{"rendered":"

A brochure website for a towing service operating in Vilnius, the Vilnius District, and throughout Lithuania. I developed the theme for WordPress from scratch to meet the client's specific needs. Someone stranded on the road is not going to explore a website. They need to understand within seconds that help is available and get in touch. The entire concept is built around this.<\/strong><\/p>

The challenge.<\/strong> Create a towing service website where someone stranded on the road can find what they need within seconds. This kind of customer is often standing beside a broken-down car at night, feeling stressed and holding their phone in one hand. That is why the site is built around two actions: calling and sharing your location. Everything else on the page is secondary.<\/p>

The result.<\/strong> A Lithuanian-language website for a towing service in Vilnius. It operates throughout the Vilnius region and across Lithuania, 24 hours a day. The project uses no page builders or generic all-purpose templates, and there is no unnecessary code, so the site loads quickly even on a weak mobile connection.<\/p>

Hero section<\/h2>

The entire hero section is filled by a background video. I created it with AI using photos of the actual tow truck operator and his vehicle. The background depicts a stylized Vilnius: it establishes the visual identity and immediately shows where the company operates, even though it is not documentary footage. Two different videos were prepared for desktop and mobile: one horizontal and one vertical. On phones, the video is neither cropped nor stretched. A separate script handles autoplay, which mobile browsers often block, ensuring that the video starts reliably.<\/p>

The key promises are immediately visible in the hero section: 24\/7 assistance, an upfront quote before arrival, no hidden fees, and arrival within 15–30 minutes. Below them are three cards: roadside assistance (tire changes and fuel delivery), location sharing, and transportation of vehicles weighing up to 3,500 kg.<\/p>

Two fixed buttons on mobile<\/h2>

Более 90 % клиентов эвакуатора заходят с телефона и обычно в стрессе. Поэтому на мобильной версии внизу экрана всегда закреплены две крупные кнопки:<\/p>

  • “Call”<\/strong> (call) dials the number with one tap;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • “Send location”<\/strong> (send location) sends your geolocation to the dispatcher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>

    The panel stays in place as you scroll the page, regardless of the section, so there is no need to search for the buttons. They are designed for thumb use and account for the iPhone safe area. The panel does not cover the footer or leave an empty strip at the bottom of the page.<\/p>

    📍Sending your location<\/h2>

    This is the project's key feature. As far as I know, no other towing services in Lithuania offer this functionality.<\/p>

    The customer often does not know the address<\/strong>: they may be on the highway, at an exit, or in an unfamiliar area. Explaining your location over the phone can be time-consuming and imprecise. Instead:<\/p>

      \n
    1. The customer taps “Send location.” The browser requests access to their geolocation while opening a short form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. The form has three fields: name, phone number (required), and a comment describing what happened.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Once submitted, the dispatcher receives an email with the customer's phone number, comment, exact coordinates, and a Google Maps link<\/strong>, allowing them to plan a route with a single click.<\/li>\n<\/ol>

      Even if the customer denies access to their location or it cannot be determined, the request is still submitted with their name, phone number, and comment. <\/strong>No SMS, messaging apps, or app installation is required to submit the form, and it works on any device. The form is protected against spam. This saves the towing service time otherwise spent confirming the address and allows them to arrive sooner.<\/p>

      The button is available not only in the mobile panel. It is also located on the home page and next to the map on the contact page.<\/p>

      Website structure<\/h2>

      • Home<\/strong> — hero video, benefits, services section (on-site assistance, heavy vehicle assistance, towing up to 3,500 kg), a three-step “How It Works” section, FAQs, reviews, latest blog posts, and large “Call” buttons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Photo gallery<\/strong> — the towing services and tow trucks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Contact<\/strong> — company details, contact form, map, and service area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Blog<\/strong> — articles with useful tips that support SEO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>

        Additionally: responsive design for all screen sizes, smooth animations, a sticky header, preloader, and an EU\/GDPR-compliant cookie consent pop-up.<\/p>

        Multilingual Support and SEO<\/h2>

        The website's original language is Lithuanian, as it was created for the Lithuanian market. However, the company has clients who speak other languages, so separate versions were created in Russian, English, and Polish<\/strong>. Services are also available in each of these languages.<\/p>

        This is not just a “translator in the corner.” Each version has its own URL and is indexed separately by Google<\/strong>. Users see the language version that matches their query and browser language in the search results, allowing them to find a tow truck in a language they understand.<\/p>

        The translation system works as follows:<\/p>

          \n
        • the website's main content was translated using the powerful GPT-5 model and reads naturally;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • new blog posts are translated automatically via Azure Translate<\/strong>. It is free, the translation quality is average, and there are no maintenance costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>

          Launching the website in search engines and advertising<\/h2>

          Since the website is new, I set up the full suite of Google integrations for it:<\/p>

            \n
          • Google Analytics<\/strong> — statistics on visitors and inquiry sources;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • XML sitemap<\/strong> and connection to Google Search Console<\/strong> — the website has been added to search results, and indexing can be monitored;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Google tag<\/strong> for tracking advertising campaigns Google Ads<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • management of the company’s Google Business Profile listing<\/strong> (it also helps generate leads).<\/li>\n<\/ul>

            Technologies<\/h2>

            WordPress, a custom-built theme using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with no page builders. The theme transmits data over a secure channel, while emails are sent through the standard WordPress mail system.
