The opportunity to receive up to $10,000 per month in Google Search advertising is a tremendous resource for nonprofit organizations. However, securing this grant is not as simple as clicking a couple of buttons. It is a clearly defined process with detailed requirements for your website and legal documents.
I work as an independent specialist, helping nonprofit organizations navigate this process through my service “For Nonprofits”. My specialty is — fully preparing your organization and website to meet Google's requirements, submitting the application, and completing verification through Goodstack to ensure your nonprofit passes all checks and receives the grant.
1. What depends entirely on Google and Goodstack
No matter how much effort we put in, certain rules and stages are controlled exclusively by the platform:
- Verification of the nonprofit's legal status: The documents are reviewed by Google's independent international partner, the platform Goodstack. They verify the nonprofit registry extract, domain ownership, and the applicant's authority. I help compile the correct set of documents and submit an error-free application, but Goodstack makes the decision itself.
- Final website approval: Google's review team re-evaluates the website before activating the grant. If the system flags any issues, it sends a standard response explaining the reasons.
- Program terms: The grant may only be used for search advertising, and any monthly budget left unused expires and does not roll over to the next period.
2. What depends on you and your website (and what I am working on)
Google sets strict standards for nonprofit websites. If a website does not comply with the rules, the application will be rejected before the budget is even considered:
- Technical requirements: The website must use the secure protocol HTTPS, display correctly, and load quickly on mobile devices. The website must have its own unique domain (subdomains provided by free website builders are not permitted).
- Structure and transparency: Single-page websites (landing pages) are not eligible to participate. The website must include “About Us,” “Projects,” and “Reports” sections, publicly available contact information, and a privacy policy in the footer.
- A specific mission: Phrases like “we support all good causes” will not be accepted. Google requires a clearly defined mission stating who you help, where you operate, and what practical assistance you provide.
3. What exactly I do as part of the “For Nonprofits” service
When an organization decides to obtain $10 000 per month from Google, I handle all the technical and administrative work:
- Technical and content audit of the website: I check page load speed, links, page structure, mobile responsiveness, and the availability of all required legal documents.
- Refining structure and messaging: I help you clearly articulate your organization’s mission and write copy for your reports, contact, and privacy policy pages.
- Preparing and submitting your Goodstack verification: I help you properly prepare an extract from the nonprofit registry, set up verification through a corporate email address on your domain, and submit your application to Google’s partners.
- Registering for Google for Nonprofits and submitting a grant application: I set up your organization’s account and submit it for final review.
- Addressing issues raised during review: If the review team sends feedback or initially rejects the application, I identify the reasons, help make the necessary changes to the website, and resubmit the application until it is approved.
Why is it convenient for nonprofits to work with an independent consultant?
Nonprofit staff already have their hands full, from supporting beneficiaries to securing funding. They simply do not have time to navigate Google Help requirements, the intricacies of Goodstack, and the technical details of their website.
Important clarification: I do not set up or manage the advertising campaigns themselves after the budget has been secured. I only manage commercial business advertising in Google Ads. In this case, my job is to do everything necessary for you to receive this grant approved and awarded.
In my FAQ and throughout my work, I always adhere to the principle of transparency: the platform itself makes the final decision on awarding the grant, while my job is to prepare your website and documents so that the reviewers have no reason to reject your application.
